http://obg.med.uth.tmc.edu/ Sean Blackwell graduated medical school from University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1993, completed a Transitional Internship and Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency through Wayne State University (WSU) in Detroit, Michigan. He then completed a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship at WSU and was on Faculty from 2001-2006.
At WSU his service included Medical Director of Informatics, Director of Antenatal Testing and HIPAA Privacy Officer for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He was also an NICHD Women's Reproductive Health Scholar and the Alternate Principle Investigator for the Maternal Fetal Medicine Units (MFMU) Network of the NICHD. From 2006-2007, He practiced at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan in the Divisions of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Fetal Imaging.
In June 2007, he moved to the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston to become the Principle Investigator for the University of Texas-Houston Maternal Fetal Medicine Units Network site. He is an Associate Professor in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences.

Dr. David A. Miller is Professor of Clinical Obstetrics, Gynecology and Pediatrics at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He is acting chief of the USC Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Medical Director of the Children's Hospital Los Angeles - University of Southern California Institute for Maternal Fetal Health, a multidisciplinary, multiinstitutional center specializing in fetal and neonatal diagnosis and treatment. He has served as peer reviewer for the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Journal of Reproductive Medicine, the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Journal of Perinatology and Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy. He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine (SMFM). Board certified in the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology and the subspecialty of maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Miller's academic interests include prenatal diagnosis and antepartum/intrapartum fetal evaluation with emphasis on fetal physiology and effective, standardized methods of training in electronic fetal heart rate monitoring.

Also an attorney, she has a unique understanding of the impact of law on medicine and nursing. Ms. Miller served as an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University Medical School and is published in the areas of electronic fetal monitoring, obstetrics, and patient safety. Committed to improving the quality of perinatal health care, she lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of obstetric, perinatal safety, and risk management topics, currently focusing on the effects of cognitive bias during healthcare decision-making. Co-author of Mosby's Pocket Guide to Fetal Monitoring: A Multidisciplinary Approach, Ms. Miller teaches physicians, nurses, and midwives how to apply a standardized approach to electronic fetal monitoring interpretation and management. She is an active member of both AWHONN and ACNM, and serves on ACNM's Quality Management committee. Ms. Miller is on the editorial board of the Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing and provides peer review for the Journal of Midwifery and Women's Health.
