CLINICAL COMPUTER SYSTEMS, INC.'S OBIX® PERINATAL DATA SYSTEM ACHIEVES NUMBER ONE RANKING FOR LABOR AND DELIVERY SYSTEMS IN THE 2009 KLAS® ANNUAL REPORT
Care Providers Again Rank CCSI #1 Among Perinatal Information System Vendors in the Market
Elgin, IL, January 5, 2010 - Clinical Computer Systems, Inc. (CCSI) today announced that its OBIX® Perinatal Data System was ranked number one for labor and delivery systems in the 2010 KLAS® annual, year-end report*. This independent report compiled from feedback of healthcare executives and professionals covers healthcare information technology and professional services. It is the third, consecutive KLAS report in which the OBIX system has been ranked number one for labor and delivery systems. Previous KLAS research reports that ranked the OBIX system number one were published in December 2008** and March 2008***. The OBIX System received the highest overall score among systems that provide central surveillance, alerts, documentation and archiving capabilities for the labor and delivery environment.
The OBIX Perinatal Data System is a comprehensive system for central, bedside and remote electronic fetal monitoring that includes archiving, point-of-care charting, single-click management reports and Internet-based physician access. Its design facilitates scalability and expansion so it can be site-tailored to meet any department's specific workflow needs. Decision support tools help clinicians improve their practices and promote patient safety in electronic fetal monitoring. In addition, the system is specifically designed for interfacing to other hospital departmental systems, hospital-wide charting solutions and electronic medical record repositories.
"We are extremely gratified by this recognition and proud of our employees, all of whom strive to meet and exceed our customers' expectations," said Kim Sell, President of CCSI. "It's the third, consecutive time in the past two years that our system has been rated number one by customers. This recognition reflects more than just best-of-breed software because we concentrate on all phases of customer ownership—from sales to implementation, education, service and support. In fact, we believe our recognition is in large part attributable to our expert education and service which lead to customer success. We will continue to work hard to retain the trust of our customers." Pat Dwyer, Director of Business Development, added "Because systems connectivity and interoperability have become so important to our customers, CCSI is working diligently with industry-leading, house-wide HIS companies to develop interfaces that can integrate vital clinical information and improve workflow efficiencies."
